XLRator has partnered with another local non-profit – Literacy in Motion, Mission – to deliver a STEM program at the public library. The program is called Coder Dojo and it ran the first session in the fall to great success. The program is targeted at kids ages 8-12 and gives them exposure to, and challenges in coding.
The program is getting set to run again in 2017, but one challenge is a lack of hardware for the kids to work on. The first session got by with borrowed laptops in the fall. Due to the popularity of this FREE program, we won’t be able to take in new kids without additional hardware. The hardware required is limited in requirements – just needs to be a browser and text editor – so any laptop will do.
