Fraser Valley’s tech community came together at XLRator’s Tech Social Mixer to network, engage in conversations, and learn from each other. The Tech social mixer was organized to help connect local tech founders, entrepreneurs, tech enthusiasts, business owners and investors.

The event was kicked off with a networking session followed by a welcome and introduction by Raymond Szabada, Chairman and CEO of XLRator. Speaking to a full house, Raymond shared XLRator’s vision for 2019 including bringing greater access to resources and capital through XLRator’s partnership with angel investor network.

Colin Schmidt, CEO of Wisebox Solutions and Chair of Chilliwack.Tech, a local chapter of XLRator, shared his experience in building tech companies and tech ecosystem in the Fraser Valley. He encouraged attendees to access available resources and mentors to grow and scale their companies quickly.

The keynote for the night, Grant Lawrence, Co-President of Valhalla Private Capital and Co-Founder of Valhalla Angels Vancouver provided a crash course on how to prepare tech startups for angel investors. While giving an outline of how angel investors operate and invest, Grant shared his experiences as an angel investor and the do’s and don’ts in the investment world.

XLRator’s manager of programs and marketing, Gurwinder thanked all the event attendees and shared details of new partnerships with Google and Valhalla. Gurwinder encouraged the attendees to take advantage of available accelerator resources and get involved with XLRator as a member, mentor, or partner to build a thriving ecosystem in the Fraser Valley.
